Callie Blount
Callie Blount was raised, graduated college and spent most of her adult life in Alabama. Which means that Southern hospitality, and a love for people and where food comes from, are at the roots of her creative work. Spending her childhood days in neighbors' vegetable and flower gardens instilled in her an affection for beauty- and a belief in the power of food to evoke memories. Leaving behind a full-time job as an art director twelve years ago, she began her food styling journey with a tiny food blog and a dream. As she learned the trade through making both terrible mistakes and taking quiet risks, she quickly learned the power of a peaceful attitude in response to negative circumstances, and watched how unwavering positivity worked to shift environments- first in herself, then on set. Since she began styling, she has seen those dreams come to life in countless ways: co-hosting Binging with Babish’s food styling episode; hosting Plate it Perfect on YouTube for two years. She has worked with clientele she could have only dreamed of- namely, her childhood inspiration Reba McIntire, along with Trisha Yearwood and Tim McGraw, and seen the publication of The Loveless Cafe cookbook. She has worked with various editorial clients (Southern Living, Cooking Light, Food and Wine) and continues to style for a litany of commercial clients (Carl’s Junior and Hardee’s; Mars Petcare; 7-Up, Captain Morgan and Q Mixers), and brands (Caraway Cookware, La Brea bakery). Now that she and her husband, sons Eli and Niko, and wild Wheaten Bigbsy call Nashville home-at the end of the day, she knows the best thing that can happen is that people feel loved, and food, kindness and beauty are captured and celebrated. Amen.
